Course Overview

This course is available to the general public and offers a slightly higher level of training compared to the Basic Life Support Course. In addition to standard AED and CPR training, it covers the following topics:

1. Understanding the Role of the First Aider: Learn the responsibilities of a first aider, emphasizing the importance of privacy, consent, and staying within trained boundaries.


2. Incident Assessment: Gain skills to effectively evaluate emergency situations, ensuring safety and understanding the circumstances to determine the appropriate response.


3. CPR and AED Usage: Receive hands-on instruction in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for both adults and children.


4. Managing Unconsciousness: Recognize and address unconscious casualties, including the proper application of the recovery position and managing seizures.


5. Choking Emergencies: Identify and respond to choking incidents in both adults and children.


6. Shock: Recognising and managing the symptoms of shock.
